My Patients

They teach me sO much. About. Life.

Each day I feel honored, to help these quirky kindrid spirits- these wounded souls- who share their vulnerabilities and raw emotions with me.  They inspire me. They educate me on life- more than any classroom could ever prepare me for.

Yeah sure, working in this field is challenging at times (I’m a Therapist for those of you who haven’t read the “About me” page yet. But at the end of the day- I am so fulfilled.  Or, rather- my heart is fullfilled.  So, thank you fellow blog-ees for listening (or reading) this pretty irrelevant entry (to you at least).  I had a sudden urge to acknowledge and document my feelings of gratitude.

Dating, Men & Chemistry.

You asked.  So- Here’s an update on my men.

Well not my men, persay- But a general recap of my most recent love adventures. Actually, not even adventures, just new interests- or prospects, if you will.

First- Hottie.  Remember him?  The one where I can’t stop thinking dirty thoughts when we’re together because he’s so damn hot. (Yes, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again) HE’s SO DAMN HOT.

Hottie and I have been out of touch for some time now (after I called it quits due to lack of sparkage) But…  I recently decided to give our romance another shot. Actually, no. Being completely honest- I was just lonely and I figured it wouldn’t hurt to reconnect.

Plus, maybe there would be a spark this time?  Just maybe my heart had changed since our last attempt at this pseudo romance?  So last weekend- to my surprise, Hottie graciously and unexpectedly accepted my invitation to a Bikram yoga class. Yep, that’s right- This All-Star trooper ventured into hot yoga with yours truly- for the very first time in his life. He did amazing (And I might add, looked amazing). *Sidenote- In hot yoga, we practice in the bare minimum of clothing, as it is damn hot (the room people).  So after class we showered- (not together, unfortunately) and then made a bolt for some breakfast & smoothies at a local cafe.

Here’s where it gets interesting.  Now, don’t get me wrong- Hottie is a great guy. In fact he’s fantastic on paper– He’s over 6 feet tall (six two I believe)- 41 years old- Never Married- No Kids- Steller Smart (has MBA)-GreatJob- WellTraveled-WellRead- Totally into me- and did I mention hot hot hot.

So what’s the deal?

Chemistry.  It just isn’t there.  Here are my observations.

A-I have no desire to rip his clothes off (even considering his hotness, which is just so bizarre) And B- I don’t laugh when I am with him (he’s pretty serious or ‘on guard’ when we’re together) In fact, sometimes I just want to shake him to see if I’ll get a chuckle out of him.  And C- I have no interest in talking with him for long hours at a time (this is noteable because intellectually stimulating conversations are SUCH a turn on to me & he is clearly ubber intelligent, but somehow I’m just not intrigued).

So the Conclusion? My heart is clearly not attracted to his.  I keep trying to force myself on him (because of the previously mentioned attributes) & I mean, hey- let’s face it- He’s got great genes (think kids, people).  But. Um. Okay-Nuff said. Moving on.

So then walks into my life Bachelor number 2.  For the sake of anonymity- let’s call him “Sox”.  I have no idea if this is a friend, a fling or the flirty father of my children- but one thing we do have is chemistry.  Lots of it.

And. He is Hotter than Hottie.

Bring it on Universe. Bring it on.

 

Advice from a friend.

1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job. 

2. It is important that a man makes you laugh.

3. It is important to find a man you can count on- and doesn’t lie to you.

4. It is important that a man loves you and spoils you.

5. It is important that these four men don’t know each other.

iT is constant

I am continually contemplating, questioning, wondering, thinking, pondering. ALLOFTHETIME….which brings me to this post.

WHY?

And more importantly, WTF can I do to SURRENDER? To just allow things to simply BE.  To stop searching, looking for some sort of answer.  Some sort of meaning behind everything- every-word- every thought that crosses my mind.

I must let go.  I must live in the present moment.  For this is all I truly have.

Working from home

has it’s challenges.  That’s for DAMN sure.

But- I must say, the perks are pretty darn great.  For example, my modest cat Bella is beneath my desk, napping in the utmost sexiest cat position ever.  Yep, she takes after her mamma.

Television

As some of you know, I made the bold decision 2 years ago to give up my TV. Wait, I take that back.  I  chose to give up cable.  My two flatscreen’s still remain on my walls- So in essence, I now only have access to Netflix DVD’s.

My decision was based on the following observation. Most programs on TV (at least in my opinion) are negative, gossipy, dramatic and ego based- All of which I do not want in my life- duh.  But don’t get me wrong- There’s nothing wrong with a little tube for a brief mental getaway.  Personally, I would just rather spend my time being more productive- and healthy for that matter.  You know- reading, visiting, enjoying, learning.  Basically, I still have the ability to zone out on the “tellee” – But at my leisure.

So Buh bye MTV, BRAVO, CBS, NBC & ABC.  No longer will this negative broadcasting system cloud my brain with nonsense.

It has been great- I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.  No more Jersey Shore Housewives from Orange County who are Desperately Looking for Love, or Dancing and Singing their way to Stardum- I mean c’mon folks- Audrina Patridge- really, a star?  Anyway- stearing clear from judgement, I simply chose the freedom from insanely depressing news stories AKA- Dateline, 60 minute’s and the like.

In the end, I have been free from the madness of negative news and gossipy reality TV shows.  And in this process, I have saved a little dinero.  Heeeh- Not a bad trade.

And then, I found Hulu. Oh Dear God- save me.  With Hulu, I now have the ability to watch my favorite television shows anytime.  Genius.
